The RAF 100 Shuttleworth Premiere was a fantastic start to 2018 season.
With perfect Bank Holiday weather*, everything was able to display as planned, including rare appearances from the Edwardians. Particularly special in that regard was a lengthy turn from Dodge Bailey in the 1912 Blackburn Monoplane, the oldest airworthy British aircraft in the world.
Other highlights included visiting acts from the Lancaster, Blenheim and Duxford Spitfire pair. There were display debuts for the Sopwith Camel and the Anson's new paint scheme.
The only slight disappointment was the Collection's Spitfire V not completing flight testing and paperwork in time to participate, but we can now look forward to that at the first evening show, this Saturday 19th May.
(* I'd prefer a few fluffy clouds to add a bit of movement and interest to the photos, but I'm certainly not complaining!)
